str8dwn
I'm not sure what size tire to purchase and would appreciate some help. After comparing my options against the OEM, I'm even more confused. Is nearly 1" larger in diameter and 30 revs per mile too large? Also, because of the profile, I plan to inflate using nitrogen to limit pressure loss and changes in the ambient temp. axis008
Subaru guys with 19x8.0" usually go with 215/35/19 or 225/35/19. Personally I would go with 235/35/19, but it has the biggest difference. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp That should help out a little and give some information about speed differences and such. -ben
str8dwn
For the 235, The calculator pops up a message saying to stay within 3% of the original tire size to avoid brake failure! Um...that's not good. Any thoughts on that? My local shop almost balked at the thought of me going 225. Couldn't imagine a 215 stretched on an 8" rim. AJChenMPH
I ran 225/45-17 on a 17x8 rim on my old car -- it didn't look stretched at all. My vote: 225/35-19. Andy | My Whips
