MR Headers - help with stock EGT sensor installation

Recommended Posts

I've been at this install for a few days as I've gotten time (car up on stands). Down to the last stages and now it looks like the bung doesn't have a lip inside for the stock EGT sensor probe to seat on (see diagram).

a) Any ideas?

b) I could try welding the probe to the threaded part of the sensor, then inserting it into the UP. Just a lot of extra time. Is it steel?

c) Does the car need the probe? If not, what's the thread size so I can plug it?

I sent an email to Boostjunkie...I'm sure he'll respond as soon as he sees it, but it's Saturday and I'm in the middle of it.

Boostjunkie got back to me quickly and the EGT is not needed if you have non-cat UP and you're tuned (e.g. Cobb access port, etc...eliminates the cell). I'm just going to plug it (12 mm fine thread).
