Legacy2008
Hi, I'll be going to Napa Valley in 2 weeks and I just wanted to know if anyone has tips about the place. What vineyards to go to and such. The only vineyard I'm really looking forward to is V. Sattui. What do you guys/gals recommend? Thanks in advance.

ForesterXT
I recommend a visit to Vincent Arroyo winery on the north side of Calistoga. http://www.vincentarroyo.com Just down the street (or on the way to his place), you might drop by Zahtila Vineyards, who makes some rather good Zinfandel. If you call a good friend of mine, and can find your way around St. Helena, and up Spring Mtn. Road, you should definitely visit Heidi at http://www.terravalentine.com . $30 for tasting up there, but you'll certainly appreciate the ambience, the wine, and it's definitely worth your time. If you can't get into the French Laundry, and just HAVE TO BLOW a few HUNDRED bucks on lunch, I highly recommend going to the CIA for lunch. No, the spies don't work out here, but the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone Academy is located just north of St. Helena. If you'd like something a little less expensive, but still have a valet park your car, the place to go is the Auberge de Soleil. Located on the Silverado Trail, southeast of St. Helena, you'll find the food there eclipsed only by the views on a clear day. Another great place for down home Southern BBQ exists just north on the southern tip of Calistoga at Busters BBQ. Get to the stop sign at Hwy. 29 where it meets Lincoln Avenue, and you can follow your nose the rest of the way. Things to see? Wine caves at Clos Pegas, down the street from Sterling Vineyards (pay for the tram ride, it's worth it), and then move your way south.
Tyeten
IMO Don't Go... Napa area is... no comment. For Californian wine tasting go to Paso Robles or El Dorado. Better roads too, especially in El Dorado.

Legacy2008
Thanks for the tips everyone. I only want to go to Napa because I like V. Sattui. How far is Sonoma from Napa? The only 2 vineyards I have planned on going so far are V. Sattui and Vincent Arroyo Winery. Has anyone been to River Rock Casino? I plan on going there at night.
