DesertEagle
I bought my '06 2.5i 4EAT new and did an ATF fluid drain and fill at 30K. According to the vacation pics, you're supposed to refill it with the same amount of fluid that you drained. Well, I drained a full gallon and replaced it with as much. When I check it with the dipstick, though, the level seems way too high. How much fluid are you guys able to drain? If my level is way too high, how'd it get that way in the first place - from the factory??
ShrinerMonkey
My 4EAT came over-filled from the factory. It is still that way because I haven't changed the fluid so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
C_randyjones
About 4 quarts, maybe 4/12 if you wait it out. IT IS SLOW.
porcupine73
You are checking with engine idling and transmission in park on a level surface after shifting through all gears? If checked with engine off it will generally read high. (sorry you probably already know that but sometimes it is the cause). The drain and fill gets maybe 1/2 or less of the total fluid in the trans out.
