mikesae
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c209/mikesae/DSC00588.jpg Bought a set of 2007 WRX wheels off ebay to go on my car. They arrived by UPS and right away I went to the tire shop to get some tires and install. A second after taking this pic for the forum, the mechanic comes out and says, "you better have a look at this". Turns out one is utterly bent beyond repair, wobbling like crazy on the balance machine. This despite the seller's description stating that they've all been tested and ran true. So now there's the hassle of returning the bent wheel (if he ever returns my email), and having to buy a new one from the dealership for an embarrassing amount. Well, live and learn. Dergara
Ebay should/will refund your money, at least that's what they claim. You should have automatic purchase protection. “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
Guest
Paypal, too, if you paid via them. Also - chances are the rims were damaged in shipping. Contact the seller and try to resolve the matter.
EL PAALO
Also - chances are the rims were damaged in shipping. Contact the seller and try to resolve the matter. that is incredibly unlikely. scratched - sure, bent - no.
mikesae
The seller has returned my email and I'm sending the bent rim back for a refund. The extra expense of having to buy a new one is unfortunate; I paid more for the new one than all 4 used ones, but hey that's life It didn't look bent from the picture : http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff263/kentsam/IMG_6453.jpg?t=1215919082

Dergara
Did he mention it in the description? If not, you are entitled to a full refund through Ebay or the seller. You should not have to deal with the cost unless you overlooked the verbage in the description, which should have been mentioned at least twice. mikesae
Here's the description: "Wheels are used but in very good condition, very minor blemishes/dings (if any), but absolutely no curb rash, cracks, bends or damage. Have been tested to spin straight and true. Center caps included." He figures the bent wheel got past his "QC". For me, the easiest thing to do get a refund for just the bad wheel. He was fine with that; it remains to be seen if he actually refunds. An expensive endevour, but it could have been worse, I suppose...
Dergara
No, it could not have been worse. Your out money and Ebay works on good faith. That description says the wheels are fine, not bent. He just stole your money by not mentioning the bent rim in the description. Why do you think these wheels were up for sale? Maybe because one was bent. You still need to contact ebay and let them know what is going on, you might get a refund for your purchase and get to keep the wheels. Ebay is built on trust. (Have been tested to spin straight and true.) I can't believe it. If you still run into issues ship these guys your wheel for repair, http://www.wheelwizard.com “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
HangKen
Wow, and I know the shipping part is the killer. I hope he covers for that. From the description, he states that it has been tested to spin straight and true so he should cover for any of the expense incurred within the transaction. rock2534
Just curious, but are they 17"? If so, do you mind saying how much you paid(for the ebay purchase, not the dealer)? I was thinking about getting another set to run in the winter with my nokians.
