Rear clicking noise with Bilsteins HDs/Pinks

yes and you have to rebuild coilovers every 1-2 years or every 20k miles? and go through a super complicated alignment process each time?

Another myth AFAIK.

Yeah, if you want to keep in them in perfect shape then yes. But same applies to regualr shocks. Not like they don't wear.

It's kinda funny that people view coilovers as something high-tech. Yeah they can be high-tech if they are adjustable (especially if they are two-way adjustable, i.e compression, not just rebound), but essentially what coilovers are... is shock & spring package.

In fact the name is misnomer... regular strut with spring (coil) over it... is actually also coilover  Just bulkier and the spring perch is fixed.

Basically there are race/track oriented coilovers and there are street oriented coilovers, and all in between. IMHO coilovers like Bilstein PSS do way better on street and track comapred to strut/spring combo. I did not expect it to be the case, so it was kinda surprise to me as well.

I just had my stock springs put back in and when I hit bumps my front spring will make a clicking noise. I'm wondering if this due to the metal to metal contact that the spring has with the bottom of the strut. Is this just poor design?

Update:

I am still trying to diagnose the problem. I took some pictures of the bottom of the struts because I want to make sure everything looks right before I go taking things apart. Will the suspension guru's tell let me know if anything looks to be wrong? I would really appreciate it.

Perrin....

Shocker. I need to assess whether the stock endlinks are the cause and if so, I need to replace with kartboy links or something.....Perrin SUCKS!!!

Unfortunately I had to take my Perrin swaybar out tonight because not only did the reinforcement bracket break, the bottom part where the bushing bracket mounts up snapped. I am kinda screwed until I can replace that piece where the bracket/bushing mounts up. Can anyone tell me what part that is. It looks like its connected to a large piece. I looked on subaruparts.com but couldn't really tell which piece needs to be replaced.
