speedy_beedee
I purchased an 08 Legacy SE about three weeks ago in Texas. I drove to Washington DC and I noticed its missing the part that goes under the engine. I think its called a splash shield. Is this something I need to worry about and how can I get a new one and shouldn't the dealer replace it. The car sits in an underground garage at the hotel for vip, It has not been parked on the street so i don't think it was stolen or fell off. But the car now has 3200 miles. I still have to go to Chicago for a week then back to Texas. I'm not even sure what is missing.

gianspi
IIRC only the GTs have plastic skidplates. Here is an aftermarket one that I would recommend over the OEM brand: http://yhst-49187380673845.stores.yahoo.net/alskle.html enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything. speedy_beedee
So the Special Edition doesn't have any kind of splash shield for the bottom of the engine.
kjiz
Nope, my 2.5i didn't; but my GT does.
laz
The 2.5i Limited does have it. X ---
LongHiway
My 2.5i came with it though it is an '05. Lots of posts about it falling off. It does offer some protection against road debris kicking up into the engine bay.
Legacy05
Its not needed, I don't have mine on.
MSPRO
My 06 2.5i Se did not have it, my 05 LGT did. In fact I still have it sitting in my basement even though I sold the LGT a couple months ago lol Amy 04 FXT vf39 5mt
iyalla
My 05 2.5i did not have it. Definitely more of a miss than a hit on the 2.5i's, but the GT's definitely have them standard.
Fivspeed
08 2.5i SE, no shield on mine either. Might be good to have if you live in the salty states. I also wonder if it helps reduce aerodynamic drag at all?
