ryverrat
Help. I have a 95 legacy wagon that is popping out of 4th when re-accelerating after coasting. does this only around 40-50 MPH. Have a noise too- kinda screech similar to belt slip that comes and goes but all new belts (alt., P/S and A/C clutch are all good) including timing belt with new timing set. Also just did clutch (this started before I did the clutch). Last year when we bought the car it would try to pull forward when stopped with the clutch in (adjust cable- seemed to work but figures needed a new clutch at 191,000 miles). Has anyone had problems with the center diff.- this one is a viscous clutch type and has leakage (on back of tranny.)? I am trying to narrow it down to a tranny or diff. problem. If the center diff. goes does it just lose AWD or will it lock the back wheels?
TwoFive5
My guess is the syncro on the 4th gear is badly worn. If so its going to be needed to disassemble your transmission.
