keka_u92 Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Hi, Recently I have purchased a used Perrin Air Filter. Previous owner said he had cleaned it with "lots" of water and detergent. I know there are special cleaning "oil" kits. How dangerous is for me to install it after a detergent cleaning? PERRIN TECH Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 You will be just fine for a short period of time if you clean it well with something like simple green or similar. Just stay away from using cleaners designed for other filters like K&N as they can destroy the foam. When you can get the correct cleaner and oil (you can get it from us or from most ATV stores if that is easier) then clean it again and re-oil properly. Try to do this within the next few hundred miles as the filter will work in the current condition, but better with oil. Let me know if I can help further!
