routing wires around side cutain airbags?

Has anyone tried to run wires up one of the pillars to the roof? I'm about finished installing some top-mounted off-road lights on my outback, and one of the last tasks is getting the new 12v line I ran from the battery up one of the side pillars, into the ceiling, and out one of the roof rack rail holes in the roof. My big concern is obviously the curtain airbags mounted in the ceiling, but I figure there must be some way around them.

The fall-back option is to run the wiring to the rear of the cabin behind where the airbags are and find a way through there, but that's extra length and with the amount of amps I plan on pulling, I'm trying to keep the wiring runs as short as possible. Plus, I also plan on running a couple antenna cables up to the roof, and those also have to be kept as short as possible.

Anyone tried something like this before?

Pictures of my install to come soon...
