Burger Posted May 29, 2008 Share Posted May 29, 2008 Has anyone tried the bybyte.com frames for mounting 7" LCD screens into the double din space in the cubby? Check out this link http://bybyte.com/lcd.htm They'll even do a Lilliput 629GL pre-mounted in frame. Either way when I get mine I'm going to change it to a double din whether I have to fab it myself or not. I cant see spending 200+ for a replacement peice. I actually got a reply direct from bybyte as follows: "Thank you for your interest in Bybyte’s products. It appears to me that the Subaru console is a double din size. I don’t have one of those consoles with me right now, but according to the picture attached it’s a double din size. Please compare the dimensions below with the front of the console: FRAME WIDTH HEIGHT DEPTH DDIN FRAME FOR LCD EBY701: 180mm 104mm 58mm DDIN FRAME FOR LCD 629 180mm 105mm 58mm You might also need the double din ring trim DDTR to fill any remaining gaps. http://www.bybyte.com/kits.htm Check the dimensions: 186mm 110mm I might be able to find a console bezel by Monday to make sure it fits, but I’m pretty sure it will fit behind the console since it’s a double din Size.
