srsly tho the only forseeable way you could be "cracking" your IC is if you heat it up REALLY hot and then drench it in near freezing water, then the thin vents MAY crack (doubtful) but the tubes inside of them should be fine even with that.

 

It may also be if you live in an area thats high heat and/or dry that our wonderfully made plastic end tanks could become fragile and break from the same thing.

I'd just remember to use a synthetic detergent and purified distilled water that was boiled in a copper pot for 3 days and processed through a triple filtration system before being dripped into a silver cup ready for use. I wouldn't want this to happen...
