space_weazel
My friend has a 98 or 99 2.2 Legacy that has just had the clutch replaced 4k ago, its started to as he describes it "slip in 1st and 2nd" he also says the clutch pedal has resistance from all the way at the top..... He thinks he needs to adjust the clutch cable, isn't it a Hydraulic? If it is a cable clutch wouldn’t slipping show in 4th and 5th first? Thanks for any advice or help sorting out this.... ehsnils
Adjust the clutch - doesn't make a difference if it's hydraulic or a cable, it's the same problem and it is manifesting itself the same way regardless of the mechanics operating the clutch. In the meantime drive nicely so that you avoid glazing your clutch or you will have to replace it.
space_weazel
Thanks, anyone had a picture of the clutch arm and where it is on this model of legacy?
ehsnils
Somewhere on the upper end of the engine/gearbox casing close to the firewall. If it is a hydraulic clutch it may be that it's the pedal linkage that has to be adjusted since there is no adjustment on the slave cylinder for some reason that probably only a Subaru engineer can answer.
