mschmidt
All, At 45K (10K at Stg 2) my clutch is slipping. I've done some research and believe I want an ACT clutch and OEM WRX FW. I plan on staying stage 2 and would like to get at least 50K out of this setup. I also want something that is drivable in stop and go (hense the WRX FW). I beleive this should suit my needs. If you do not agree, let me know. Otherwise, help me sort out the part numbers and point me to some places to compare pricing before I order. thanks in advance. Legacy_GT_Pilot
I've just ordered an ACT clutch kit (SB5-HDMM) and Streetlite flywheel (600480) for my 2005 Legacy GT based on some feedback here and at NASIOC. I don't have any impressions to share yet as I will be getting it installed on April 4. Dave
mschmidt
thanks... why the streetlite flywheel and not the WRX OEM?
Legacy_GT_Pilot
A few others have gone this route and liked the results. Close to stock feel, with better results. Dave
f1anatic
the streetlite is a way lighter (almost half of the OEM GT). The improvement in response (accelerating and rev matching is impressive). I think the OEM WRX is 22 lbs while the OEM GT is 26. The Streetlite is 13.9. Pounds.

mschmidt
Legacy_GT_Pilot, What did you pay? eBay has the FW for $230 shipped and the clutch kit for $550 shipped. These seem high. Anyone know where to get a better deal? I still think I want to OEM 06 WRX FW. Can someone still help me with a p/n and place to buy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACT-STREETLITE-FLYWHEEL-SUBARU-WRX-06-07-600480_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33732QQihZ008QQitemZ180187331082QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACT-HEAVY-DUTY-STREET-DISC-CLUTCH-KIT-06-07-SUBARU-WRX_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQihZ013QQitemZ230233020398QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Mike

BlackHole
^^ Yes. www.fredbeansparts.com (OEM side of KOP) for $199.xx $550 shipped for the clutch is the best I've seen. If you find cheaper, let us know. Kyle "BlackHole"
mschmidt
I made a $500 shipped offer on the clutch. We will see what happens.
Legacy_GT_Pilot
When I looked the best I could find was about $820 shipped for the Streetlite flywheel and clutch kit. I purchased mine from a local tuner who gave me a packaged deal on the parts and install, and it goes on my car tomorrow. mschmidt
Let me know how it goes. I accepted a counteroffer and paid $530 shipped for the clutch kit. Still need to get the OEM WRX Flywheel, some tranny fluid, and find an installer. What fluid does everyone go with for this? Mike
BlackHole
I tried Scotty's cocktail and it was nice for a while but is starting to get notchy after only 10kmi. ABPillinois
Redline 75w-90 ns works pretty good in my tranny I have the ACT and Wrx combo and I love it. Feel is good and holding power is even better I am now stage 2. FWIW I got clutch on E-bay and FW and oil from KOP, best deal I think."All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer." NewScooby
Can you do a clutch swap without changing the tranny fluid? I don't really want to buy more trans fluid since my redline fluid is less than than 5,000 miles old. I just ordered the ACT clutch and LW flywheel yesterday.
