unlike a few on here im not intrested in flush mounting or doing any custom work, easy install without hacking your cubby.

The circle plate for the suction cup was applied inside the cubby with the rubber mat removed ( and the mat fits fine with the suction cup mount removed)

remove cubby

remove radio

ran the wires for the car charger and aux cable from the arm rest to the cubby holder.

i like it, as with any navi its kinda gives you the run around, but other than that the unit is nice, good sound quality , bright screen, fm transmitter is a plus, bluetooth works great with my blackberry

Looks good, congratulations on your install. So am I correct in assuming that you no longer have a cubby?

If so why not fabricate the bracket (or make a new one) that would stick the GPS out a little further and then reinstall the cubby (with a large enough hole for the connectors to thread through)? That way you could still retain the use of the cubby for storage of your GPS when not in use!

I did a similar thing for a Sirius radio on my old 98 outback. Fabricated a bracket from an old equalizer mounting bracket, threaded the wires through the cubby pocket and voila! I was good to go. Lots of passengers commented on how good the install looked and it was surprisingly sturdy.

Wow, what a coincidence, I was just looking for a thread like this.

Last night I pulled my cubby out, removed the door and installed my Nuvi 650. It's too large to fit inside with the door in place and if I do keep it, it sticks out too much and it looks rather awkward.

What do you guys think?

I'm running into a problem. Even though I removed the rubber mat, the suction cup still won't stick. I don't want to use any permanent solutions, can you guys think of anything I could use to make it stick?

The only thing I don't like about this set-up is all that empty space behind the GPS especially the gap where the door would open into.

Did anyone else have any trouble putting the cubby back into place? On mine, the clips wouldn't catch, it was as if I was trying to squeeze a piece too large for the hole. I fiddled with it and finally forced it in place but I'm affraid to do it all again as to not crack the plastic frame and then end up with clips with no surface to attach to. Is there a certain procedure?
