Always Dirty Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 So I just got my '05 GT sedan back from the body shop after being there A MONTH following a suburban hitting me and I'm trying to figure out if the trunk lid is right or not. The trunk lid has a couple of exterior panels, the lower of which doesn't seem to be connected around the edges (anymore?) to the interior of the trunk lid. You'd have to have the trunk open to tell. It rattles a little, and it definitely flexes about a quarter inch when grabbed (opening/closing trunk). Is this gap supposed to be closed up? I would think that moisture would be getting up inbetween the panels all the time given the aerodynamics going on around the back of the car. If somebody could confirm whether or not they have a little play around the edges of that whole lower trunk panel it would be greatly appreciated. Seems like it should be welded or otherwise closed up, but would like to confirm before bitching out the body shop for it.
