paulh
As soon as I start my LGT '05 model the electric cooling fan comes on and stays on. This even happens in 40 degree weather. Is this normal? If so does anyone know the reasoning for this, as it does not make sense to me. How would I go about modifying the control so that the fan does not kick in until the engine reaches full operating temperature?

dv8ingvector
If you have the 5 speed manual there was a recall on your ECU to fix it. Seach for more details... beat me to it
Jerboa113
yup, common problem. bad relay screws with the ECU. If you have any ecu mods REMOVE THEM before going to the dealer about this. paulh
Really appreciate that info. I'm glad I posted as I have 35000+ miles, so I better hurry to the stealer while I can still make a case for warranty work. I will make a point of "unmarrying" my cobb accessport first:lol:. Jerboa113
AFAIK it was a factory recall, so I would think those are exempt to the warranty expiration date no? yea, cos if you dont you have to pay cobb like $250 to reset the thing and present them with the receipt fo the work to prove that the ecu was replaced/reset before unmarrying and then ship them the AP.. its not pretty, happened to a friend of mine. He kinda got into a corner with it cos he couldn't admit that he had modded the ecu and they already had his car heh. tomfohr15
Yep, its a recall and when your factory warranty expires it doesn't matter.
