PFlorenzano Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Hello everyone, As you may know, I'm new to Subaru's and I'm picking my car up tomorrow.. I'm very excited about it.. Anyway, I heard that there is a blow of valve that will give the car a sharp distinct sound, and more power..is that true? Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you, Pete
SoSillyLGT05 Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 i have a turbosmart BOV idk about more power exactly but the sound is perfect
Carter Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I dont know about the "more power" Dont go with a BOV, its more bling bling that functionality. If you want some sound, remove the silencer from the airbox and you can hear your turbo pretty well.

Can someone tell me about the Stage 1 kit? I'm just looking for first hand opinions on it. Thanks again, Pete
PFlorenzano Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 You lose power with a BOV. Then what is the benefit of having one?
LIZARD Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 You lose power with a BOV. NO. As stated by others it is more under the hood bling than anything else. When running more boost, bigger turbo, stage II, etc. it may be beneficial or even necessary to upgrade your stock bypass valve with a bov plummed on 100% recirc. But at stock, stage I and "modest" stageII levels the stock bpv will more than handle the boost. Just bling/noise on a stockset-up. Do what makes you happy, plenty of info on here about them, search and you shall find. lizard. Stage2.5376, TDC ProTune, blah blah blahhhh and....Alky/H20 injection
