Can you 'abuse' the SI Drive?

Recommended Posts

From what I understand the mode button both changes the throttle mapping and the gearbox changes (on AT models) so that it allows for more power instead of better economy. Since it's basically shifting software behavior there are other safeguards in place that acts as safeguards.

I suspect that it's your wallet that gets the most abuse. :p

yes. the tranny shift is different. ONLY for S# though. actually i lied.

I mod limits shifting at ~5500

S allows full 62-6300 short shift in auto mode. will hit 6500 in manual mode.

S# allows shift at 62-6300 rpms in auto will hit 6500 in manual mode. BUT it will hold the gear for 3-4 seconds before settling in. it seems to wait for you to tap the throttle again. if you do the gear is there if you hold steady it will go to 5th.

i and s shift the same except for the false redline. s# holds the gear.

also...07's will NOT go past 6500 without shifting on it's own. it will shift if you do not. no matter the mode. manual or auto and no matter the si mode.
