BoxerGT2.5
My mother in law (100%) Italian calls it gravy. I've always called it sauce. The first time I ate over there when my wife and I were dating, she asked if I wanted more gravy. I looked at her dumbfounded, thinking, these crazy ass mofos put the shit I douse my potato's in on their pasta? OBAMA......One Big Ass Mistake America! Guest JessterCPA
No no no. You all have it wrong. Gravy is meat sauce. Sauce is tomato sauce. This straight from the Sicilian's mouth.
madabs
Im Italian from Italy. A meat sauce is called Ragu, yes like the bottled stuff. Each one has a different name depending on the ingrediants, but they are all Sugo or Salsa which both translate to sauce. But you also would call Trukey Gravy a Sugo but never Salsa.
