sonicjet
I have Invidia up and catted down pipe with spt exhaust and spt intake AP stage 2 map flash. Sometimes check engine with error code 420 (Catalyst below threshhold). I know under normal surcumsatnces it should not happen. Anyone know why its happening? sexylegacy
The stage 2 map is probably dumping too much fuel and it's a little confused by the ethanol blend in our gas right now so with the catless UP the 2 O2 sensors are reading too close together. mickeyd2005
You need to use the stage 2 BASE map and not the stage 2 REALTIME map. P0420 is turned off in the BASE map. If you are using a COBB Stage 2 Base map then there's no way it can ever come on regardless of what the cat is or is not doing. P0420 is NOT turned off in the REALTIME map. It is standard practice to turn off P0420 in all stage 2 maps because many stage 2 setups are catless. Also, some aftermarket high flow cats are not as efficient at cleaning the air as the OEM cat. sonicjet
Thats what is surprizing me that I have stage 2 base map and it still comes on. I know there is a learning period for ECU. Do you think it might be the problem and it will go away soon?
mickeyd2005
What are you using to read the code? Do not use the AP. It is notorious for giving false codes. I don't know if the 08 has a built in code reader like the 06. You might want to try that first. If that doesn't work, then go to Autozone or any other local parts store and borrow a OBDII reader. It's free.
mickeyd2005
BTW, Cobb doesn't recommend the SPT intake to be used with their OTS tunes. Personally, I would throw it away or sell it.

sonicjet
Ok back to stock intake. Who knows if Perrin AFTA-MAF Tube has any use or influence on A/F reading or it just for looks?
