Driver72
I know the LGT brakes basically stink. they lack feel, are pretty mushy and don't stop all that great. (I know some think it's the tires, but that's an excuse, I have Pirelli P Zero Neros on and the brakes still stink) The Hyundai Sonata I rented over the holidays have MUCH better brakes, and feedback is superior. Honestly I haven't driven many cars whose brake feel and feedback are worse than the LGT's. Anyway, recently I've also noticed a bit of "grinding" feel coming from my brakes. Almost feels like there are small rocks or sandpaper attached to the pads. They don't squeal or make noise, but with the stereo off, I can feel a grinding feel through the brake pedal and a bit of grinding sound. It's not drastic, but definately there. Anyone else have this? I have only 1200 miles on my car, I gave the breaks a pretty good break in (wasn't hard on them...still haven't been). Guest *Jedimaster*
Maybe you got sand in your vag, er brakes?
jmcgliss
Was the "sand" between the pads and rotors, or between your flip flops and the brake pedal? Sorry...not trying to bust your chops...your story reminded me of watching a swank Porsche Cayenne S park in front of a dry cleaner...and a disheveled society broad gets out wearing those cheap flip flop beach sandals. The German engineers would lose their lunch ;-) Back to your question...haven't felt anything like that except when running cold racing pads on my OT car. Even rust buildup on the rotors after a rain isn't a problem IMHO.
