4EAT (Sport Mode vs Drive)

Mainly this is a question regarding the difference between the 2 modes of the 4EAT and the 3 modes of the 5EAT. The 5EAT has the "Intelligent" mode which reduces the amount of torque/throttle on the engine relative to the pedal pressure compared to other two S modes. Does the same logic apply to "D" in the 4EAT?

So assuming the 2 modes would have different accelerations but what if I use the Sport to be more fuel efficient (say forcing the engine to up shift as soon as the engine rpms are at that minimum point to allow the shift). I find that if I "shift" early in sport mode around 2k rpm while Drive usually revs up to 2.5-3k before shifting, is this because Drive has reduced torque compared to Sport mode or just because the automatic is programmed to shift higher? Another scenario is say I'm cruise control on the highway, does which mode I'm in matter if I'm going at a constant speed and the rpms stay relatively constant?

Subaru has a nice 3d torque chart comparing the 5EAT but I can't find a similar page/explanation about the 4EAT.
