greenspeed
I have been looking at getting a legacy gt in the 98-99 range before they changed body styles and wanted to know any common problems to look at when looking at buying one. It's going to be a 5spd of course and I have never owned anything outside domestic, and just tired of their crappy vehicles. So any information would be nice and I figured I'd ask the people that know the most first... Thanks!
Bdubs
Headgasket! Make sure it has been replaced, otherwise you'll likely run into problems down the road. The 2.5 is well known for HG failures. Another common problem would be the CV joints, check for tears on the boots, grease in the inner fender and inside the wheel.
greenspeed
is there a specific mileage the HG's usually go...cause with Cavaliers its always at 100k regardless...it seems to be clock work? And is the HG one on this or is it two granted cause its a H4? And if its two what side is usually the side the goes first? Thanks
