Detslider Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 Why is that I always see a T-Shirt or some other type pf clothing or rag stuck in the window or tied around a mirror on a broke down vehicle???? Generally accepted signal to other drivers, police, etc. that the vehicle is inoperable and can't be moved without assistance and/or repairs. Idealy, the white flag should be tied to the top of the radio antenna (if equipped). If not, mount it it a place that is highly visable to traffic For a motorcycle it's placing a helmet on the ground next to the rear wheel.
