snadsnad
Just wanted to know if anyone manufactured front and rear strut tower braces for the '07 GT. I see Cobb makes a front brace but it only says for 05-06 and they don't list a rear. Any recommendations?
Hokiebird
The strut tower braces are the same in 07 so those would work. Off the top of my head I know STi and Cusco also make braces. Search around some of our vendors for more options.
chenc544
They don't make much of a difference in the LGT. Don't waste your money unless you just want the bling.

So if anything I should get better sway bars? Will these push me out of the stock SCCA class? I'd like to tool around with autocross this summer but not get spanked too bad, especially if it means getting moved into a non-stock class. SubLGTaru
They don't make much of a difference in the LGT. Don't waste your money unless you just want the bling. Why is that? I would think they would help out. Do you know from experience? I suppose the sway bars make the biggest improvement?
snadsnad
That's kind of why I asked. I know using strut tower braces without sway bars is pointless but I figured since the LGTs at least come with stock sway bars maybe the braces would help out. SubLGTaru
I am certain that they help out, but to what degree, I have no clue? I guess chenc544 just thinks they aren't worth the money. Are you on any springs or plan to run any?

The cusco under brace make a bigger difference then the currently offered strut tower bars http://rallitek.com/cufrloarmbar.html http://rallitek.com/cureloarmbar.html Will that keep you in stock class? Are you on any springs or plan to run any? Strut braces only work if they increase the rigidity of the chasis, otherwise they are just for looks and adds dead weight. LGT's chasis is actually fairly stiff to the point that the struct braces will not provide much additional rigidity. I'm not familar with SCCA classes so you should check the rules to see what's allowed for your class. But sway bars, springs or coil-overs will give you much better return for your money. 808subaru
I used to race my wife's 05 lgt in DS Solo2 (that's D- Stock). Once i changed the F&R swaybar and endlinks, that puts you into another MODIFIED class, like ESP (E street prepared). And after the car went to STG2, that also takes you into SM (street modified) b/c of engine management. Basically to stay in a stock class legally, you can have R-Comp tires, a axleback or catback exhaust, that's about it. Just beware; those running in stock classes are generally the best drivers out there. At least that's my experiences in the regions that i have raced in. The cusco under brace make a bigger difference then the currently offered strut tower bars http://rallitek.com/cufrloarmbar.html http://rallitek.com/cureloarmbar.html Will that keep you in stock class? I had the cusco lower brace for the rear and front installed today. Also had the 21mm cusco rear sway installed. Installation of the 3 parts was straight forward and took about 2 hours, including smoke breaks in between. Haven't been able to test it out as its been raining the whole day in Houston. Just by driving it home from the workshop at legal speed limits, I could feel the ride to be a tad rougher. But even though I didn't get to test the setup on high speeds, I could feel a big diff when turning at usual speeds around the neighborhood. Time permitting, I'll try to get it up on the lift again tomorrow to take some pics. Too excited today...forgot to bring my camera when they were being installed. Should have gotten the front sway as well, when I was ordering from JSC. Thumbs up for them!
