VirtualReality
I went into my car this morning and found a crack on the windshield. I haven't drive my car for two days, and I don't know when it happened. Everything was ok last friday, I did not hear anything hit my windshield. Does anyone know where I can get my windshield fix/replaced, and around how much? I have searched and found that South Valley Auto Glass does the windshield replacement. Anyone have experience replacing windshield other than getting tint there? Will I be able to do my road test with a cracked windshield? I have appointment for this friday. (I have a valid Canadian driver's license) Thanks in advance. UPDATE: I called my insurance company and turned out it's covered under insurance with $100 deductible. Safelite is the company that will be coming to my apartment and repair/replace the windshield. 2nd UPDATE: The windshield was replaced by Safelite last Thursday and did my road test as planned. Now I'll need some rain to see if there's any problem with the installation. http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd6/VirtualReality_photo/IMGP1740.jpg http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd6/VirtualReality_photo/IMGP1743.jpg
Tocsin
Friend a mine got a ticket or some trouble for a crack, it was way bigger than yours though. Could be a problem for your test. But it could depend on who you get, the dmv folks here in CA are some of the most diverse. I had my windshield shot with something outside a bar once. had it replaced somewhere(can't remember exaclty now) in SF. was free for me cause I have glass coverage in my insurance. depending on your company, adding glass coverage can be cheap. Sorry not any real help.
VirtualReality
Thanks for the info. I checked my insurance, I don't think I have glass coverage. Looks like I'll have to postpone my road test.
