Has anyone ever seen a V1 enclosure?

That's definitely gonna affect laser-detection (even "clear" plastic), but if that isn't a concern for you, then yes, it's technically possible.

There's even been "within headliner" installs of the V1 - for example:

There's also been other "enclosure" installations:

But going back to your original concern - this is probably the most easily had, pre-made, product:

Note, though, that although you will reduce the visual signature of this detector, it will still very much be detectable via the Spectre radar-detector detector. So far, the only known defeat of the Spectre is the Bel STi-Driver (and STi-R, which should become available, retail, stateside, within the next quarter). There used to be a full-stealth/cloak modification of the V1 available (Roy Zegers's creation, out of Australia, I think), but I am not sure if it is still on the market - it's definitely pricy.

Thanks for the info.

Understood that it will be electronically detectable.I only plan to have it turned on in states where detectors are legal. Aka when I am driving down to VA I'll switch it off when I cross the border, but I don't want to worry about taking it down while driving :)

Cool beans! :D

No problem. Glad to help. :)

And in that vein, please note that the commercial enclosure noted is molded around the detector, so it's definitely going to be noticeable......
