dipren443
Howdy fellas. Just picked up a '05 Legacy 2.5 GT Limited Wagon. There are some nit picky little things in the interior I am not happy with and I would like to replace (I paid a decent price for the car, so I am not upset about, just OCD and want the car perfect). First question. Subaru parts seems to list the interior color as Ivory in the parts descriptions. Is this right? I know the color chart refers to it as Taupe. Second of all, looking for a center console remove and replace thread. I can guess as to how it comes apart, but was hoping there was a how to. I did a quick search, but didn't see anything. Looking to replace the console and the wood trim along with the shifter plate. Ok, I have removed the two screws under the console cubby hole. The console still doesn't want to come out. Any hints as to what else needs to be removed? I will throw up a quick pic here in a minute. Trying to finish cleaning up the garage to make room for her. In the second pic, is that the OE hole for the floor mat retaining clip?? From the pics I have seen, it looks too far back. Do I have a random hole in my carpet?? It doesn't line up with the current floor mats, but I was hoping that was an issue with the mats themselves. http://lh4.google.com/nicholas.diprenda/R2V_3gsYXTI/AAAAAAAAA4k/NYjfXt49WM4/s800/SSC_8040.JPG http://lh5.google.com/nicholas.diprenda/R2V-DwsYXRI/AAAAAAAAA38/gwexc2nQGwM/s800/SSC_8039.JPG
outback07
That hole in your carpet is for the hook that holds your carpets from moving it could be possible that those carpets are not oem and thats why they dont match up. And What do you mean you wanna remove your console. This is how i removed the radio for the hooking up of my subwoofer http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71109

This is how i removed the radio for the hooking up of my subwoofer http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71109 As far as the console is concerned, I am going to replace it. No matter though, I weeded through some DIY's on here and figured out how to remove the console. I assumed that was the case with the floormats. I am going to order the Weathertech Floor Liners. I am assuming those will line up better. Nutley, NJ... I used to live there...

No matter though, I think I have it all figured out. I was assuming that was the hole for the OEM retaining hook, but it just looked too far back based on other pics I have seen. I am ordering the Weathertech Floor Liners, and hopefully that will take care of the issue. I guess I need to order the hook though. I see you are in Nutley, NJ. I spent the first few years of my life there.
dipren443
Thats what I figured. Like I said in the first post, it just looked too far back compared to some pics I was looking at on here.
BigBad
TSB about torn carpeting hooks. Had mine replaced when it broke with the new style a while back while it was under warranty. http://www.thel7.com/TSB/12-83-04.pdf Taupe/ivory = same thing I've never seen a thread about taking out the entire console only threads for short throw shifter replacements. Auto or MT?
dipren443
Excellent. I will see about taking care of that ASAP. I am probably going to wait until my Weathertech's get here. Manual transmission. Had to go on a little road trip to get it. I am a little disappointed with some small issues in the interior, but I will remedy those. The interior looks to have been taken care of for the most part, but I think the previous owner had a small dog. Some marks on the interior door panels and center console, etc... Oh well, I wanted a manual wagon, so I was willing to accept the little problems. On top of that, I had enough of my problematic VW.
