Alicafster
The new auto gearbox has been a good thing in the 08 Tribeca. Since the 1st gen has been accused for alot of things like loosing alot of power in the torque converter. My question: Is there some essetial part that can be replaced with the newer gearbox to, In my case a 2007 Outback 3.0R? Here is a good description of all the changes in the 2nd generation. http://www.drive.subaru.com/Fall07_whatmakes.htm

Bimmer
I saw this article in DRIVE, too. This sounds like a lot of marketing hype to me... These really seem like incremental changes to me. Changing the electronics would be a nightmare, and changing the internals means rebuilding the transmission... What parts are you hoping to replace? Alicafster
Maybe the C52 torque converter would bolt on for the old C40 converter.
