He got a woody cause he thought someone might have actually ported the SSM

Which no one has yet.

No I thought we might try to do it since we have cars which have the setting and that don't.. but on second thought I don't really have time for that, maybe if the car(s) were local.

And forget about em and burn the entire circuit out when you drive all summer long with em on :lol:

Theres most likely a relay for a reason.

If this were such a danger, then the stealership wouldn't happily reset them to stay on forever... and there IS an indicator light on the button on the dash.

except when the dealer does it, it cycles off with the ignition and then you have to turn it back on when you want it on.

The other proposed hack meathod would leave it on ALL THE TIME

No, skipping the relay means the deicers would still turn off with the ignition, because there's no power to the deicers without the ignition on...

In fact, depending on the design of the button, the deicers would probably reset to "off" when the ignition was turned off.

Were only talking about when the car is ON. STILL if you left them on all summer, it can not be good for the circuit. Even if its only when driving. Any kind of heating element takes a decent amount of current.
