The HU can go up and over the beam, mine did, but you'll need a titling faceplate to make it the same rake as the bezel. I don't believe pioneer offers that option. ignore him, he'll go away. The NAV add-on wasn't that expensive, KNA-G510. because its all eprom and no hard drive or DVD-rom. Don't recall what I paid for them. ignore him, he'll go away.
