kcarter116
I'll be at an HPDE at Summit Point, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for tire pressures on my 08LGT. I am riding on the stock, 17" all seasons. Thanks.
NewScooby
My last track day my tire pressures went up around 6 psi in the morning sessions and 8 psi in the afternoon sessions. I was starting at 34-35psi and ending up with between 40-42 psi hot. That is with Azenis 615's. I would not run stock tires over 38-40 psi. Your first session will be realitively slow so I would start at 36psi and check your temps as soon as you get off the track and drop them to 40psi. Continue to check thru out the day as soon as you exit the track, and adjust the hot temps. Add a bit more PSI to the front if your tires are rolling over, reduce if they are not rolling over at all. Add a bit more PSI to the rear to loosen the rear up a bit, reduce a bit of air from the back if the rear is rotating too much.
KartRacerBoy
Bring tire crayons (old school - white shoe polish) to mark the sidewalls so can see if the crayon wears away. Then you know you're running on the sidewalls. A bad thing. Be safe. Have fun.
