BlackOnBlackGT
I am confused if this is a normal thing? My 5mt sits higher in the front (5 finger gap) as opposed to my friends AT(4 finger gap) Is this normal? Due to the heavier weight of a A/T or is my car just weird. Will this be effected when I get springs ie; will it sit higher than it's supposed to or will springs fix this? Anyone have input?
TRS
Could be the extra weight of the AT, or if the at is older more settling, or just variation during production, or any combination of these. My left rear gap has always been a little less than the right rear and some others have noticed the same on their car.
BlackOnBlackGT
both 08 he got his a day after mine I have more miles. I dunno, I am just hoping that once I lower it, it doesn't stay like that or a ffect it
IBLIS
it's most likely the weight of the AT. My srt-4 was lower at the passanger side front wheel due to engine weight. Only thing that cured the problem was a set of coilovers.
Guest
The stock springs are different between MT and AT to compensate for weight difference. Maybe your car has AT springs...?

pillboy
Trucks have manual transmissions, and everyone knows trucks sit higher than cars. It is still ugly.
SWP-LegacyGT
AT weighs more so therefore.......
Guest
That seems very unlikely unless Subaru fucked up from the factory Not unheard of. They can forget put bolts on turbo, so they can put wrong springs. Compare color codes on the front springs with your buddy's car - if they are the same, that's wrong. Ideally find someone with an MT car and compare with his/hers. You could have also gotten 3.0R springs which I would guess are different as well. mickeyd2005
As unclemat pointed out, the nominal spring rate for ATs is higher than for the MTs. Theoretically, Subaru accounted for the weight difference. However, springs aren't that accurate. Assume +-10%. What would that range be in inches?
