EquinnoxX
I've had my share of cars, granted all of them were older, but on almost all of them the finish on the steering wheel wore out. Rough spots would form where i would usually hold it. My questions is, are the MOMO wheels any better? Do they still wear out over time?
forestir
Do you use deet (mosquito repellant) often? I understand it'll dissolve various plastics and coatings... has caused grief with all sorts of stuff, including cameras, etc.
EquinnoxX
Not really. I've used it when i was in Alaska (i dont think anyone could live without it there) but never really around here. But i guess any kind of dirt or moisture is really the enemy here. I was just thinking maybe the MOMO's were coated/made differently to protect it from this sorta thing.
NutBucket
The leather will wear due to salts on your hands. On the other hand, the hands' natural oils help the leather:p
vadimr
i wore out momo wheel in my 03 wrx, had spots all over the place, now with LGT I try to clean and condition it every month or so... I don't drive with dirty hands or use any repellents so the leather does wear out, but as far as I understand that conditioning will help a lot.
