Rockinblue
Anyone have an idea what the maximum speaker mounting depth is for the front speakers? It would be sweet to install a set of CDT CL-61 6.5" components, but I'm not sure how much room I will have to work with, and the thickness of the spacer that is required. Seems like not a lot of people have attempted an aftermarket speaker install.
Th3Franz
I still need to find this out or take measurements myself. I'm considering some CDT CL-62's. :D But yes, thick spacers will be required which is why I am concerned... waiting till next spring to maybe mess with the audio stuff. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
Xenonk
I'll swap my speakers AFTER A blow out the stock ones.. I dont think it's that deep.. but from the looks of it, just make spacers for the speakers.. the door card seems like it's hiding a lot of room in there. Rockinblue
The only install pictures I have seen are on this thread here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3329&page=3&pp=10& But from the looks of it, a 1-inch spacer might be necessary for speakers with mounting depths greater than 2-inches. I sure hope the door panel has enough space to handle the spacer depth. Finding a spot to mount the crossovers is going to be a challenge. I'm in the same boat as far as a timeframe goes - probably next summer as it's just too cold outside right now.
