str8dwn
I've noticed that my iPod (which has the actual hard drive in it) sends a loud screeching noise through the factory 3.5mm input when it's accessing the disk for more songs. I've tried both the headphone out and the dock connector, and both produce the same annoying noise. Anyone else with same problem or have a solution? It never did this with my Kenwood aftermarket h/u with iPod input in previous car.
laz
I have a 20 GB HD ipod. It does not make any sounds. Are you charging it as well? I have a car charger for it, and it never has any feedback. Also what type of cable do you have? X ---
leftride
are you using Jazzy's mod? I am running a HK drive and play through Jazzy's mod and do not have that issue. *vb gallery*
str8dwn
I am using the Kenwood iPod adapter cable with a dock connector on one end, and a 3.5mm and USB connector on the other. The USB goes into my Sendstation charger and the 3.5mm goes into the factory input (I have an 07).
laz
Can you check and see if it happens when you are charging the ipod and if it stops if you unplug the power? X ---
str8dwn
Laz, It stops when charging the iPod. I assume that means ground loop?
laz
Sowhen you charge it it stops? It is usually the other way around, when you stop charging it it stops the whine. The charger may not be the best, or the cable. At least you can try other options. Maybe buy another charger from a place that you can return it if it does not fix the problem. str8dwn
You're right. I had it backwards - LOL. It stops when I unplug the charger portion of the cable.
