soft touch grippy material coming off.

I wrapped mine in a vinyl that I had laying around. Came out ok. Nice and tight, which it has to be because that cover fits tight. Im still not sure if its going to fit, I left it to fully dry over night since Ide be pushing and pulling on it. Material is thin so I have high hopes haha.

I think it looks nice, matches the texture of other areas. And it feels great when you touch it. Better than the soft touch stuff.

We'll see! Ill post as to whether it fits or not.

That looks surprisingly good for a vinyl wrap!

Thanks! I thought so too. Also the first time Ive ever wrapped something haha. I made a shift boot (auto) and e-brake boot with the same material. Its nice stuff, and seems to be holding up well. No clue what Im doing with the sewing/wrapping stuff, but Im learning. Gotta work on my corners + edges. Nice thing is, this stuff is a little stretchy, and even more when you warm it up, so its forgiving.

I slapped the cover back on last night. Fit surprisingly easy. I didnt have to force it, it just slid right on. Im not sure if it locks on the sides as well as before, but its certainly not loose. In my humble opinion, it looks 10x better. And it feels great. Except now the back side of that door pull is all weird feeling since its peeling also haha. I might scrape it off and scuff it so it has a tactle but uniform feeling. Its just another small little project that no one will ever notice unless I point it out, and even then they probably wont care much!!

Couple pictures....You can see the texture matches the surround area pretty well.

Its from Joannes...I know I know... I basically got their most heavy duty material. They assured me it was furniture grade and could withstand movement, sunlight, and wouldnt wear easy. I made my shifter and e-brake boot out of it.

I also bought WAY too much of it haha. But since it also wraps nicely, Ill find uses for it.

Its thin, a little stretchy (which makes it kind of a PITA to sew), and has a nice backing that takes spray glue well. Nice soft feel to it. Gets pretty stiff in the cold though. When its warm its supple and great.

I like it for its grain. Its a softer looking grain and matches the upper door trim, dash, and other leather/leather looking areas of the car.
