wwjd
Hi, I have a question...I just bought a 2.5i Legacy (Auto). According to the manual (pg 9-4), by putting in a cap on a fuse, AWD becomes disabled (For spare tire purposes). I'm just wondering, would there be any long term damage to disabling the AWD? If not, this would be good for saving some gas during the summer time. The odd thing though is its only for this one model...
c_hunter
It's for temporary use only. If I remember right from another discussion, it causes the 4EAT's clutch pack (in the center diff) to lock (or unlock) to full FWD. I don't think you are supposed to drive like this for extended periods of time. Craig
Xenonk
I think it overheats the center diff if you use it for daily driving. Keefe Keefe
