sduford
I'm looking for replacement bulbs for the backing lights on my 05 OBXT and the user manual lists them as "921" style. However, I am not able to find any corresponding bulbs on the PIAA web site. Does anyone no of another model number for these bulbs, or a direct replacement? sduford
Just answered my own question. Apparently the 912 and 921 bulbs are interchangeable. PIAA offers the 912 in Xtreme White 18 Watts, although they are not listed on their website. I have been able to find them via Google.: http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-3749.cfm Sly Sylvain www.digitalfotographer.com - Audi Q5 Club - MB-GLK Club
fbi012
ok just a question here, why change bulbs? I think the stock are bright enought, dont you think so?
sduford
I live by a lake, way out in the woods, with no lights to light up my parking area (and I want to keep it that way). While the stock bulbs are pretty good, I want to get as much light as I can. 05 Outback 2.5i
Hey sduford, You may want to check out this thread over on Scoobymods... http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1244 35 watt Halogn replacements for the back-up Lights. If you want more light, stay away from the superwhite, hyperwhite, extremewhite bulbs, etc... They use a coating to change the solor of the light, which ultimately reduces output... SFGR415
Yea...was about to say that...Piaa bulbs have the blue coating on them which give them that cool HID color but you actually loose brightness...kinda like how 4300k HID kits are brighter than 8000k HID kits...i would know...i sell PIAA at my work...i always tell my customers...if you want brighter lights that are hyperwhite go with HIDS...if your looking just for the color...PIAA. sduford
Unfortunately Subaru changed the bulb type on the 05 Outback and those 35W Halogens will no longer fit.
