C_randyjones
silly question: Do I need to use permatex or similar gasget matterial when installing or will the new gaskets be sufficient?
qikslvr
If you are just putting new mufflers on and leaving everything else stock; you should be able to just use new gaskets. The only place I used the Hi-Temp Permatex is at the DownPipe->Mid-Pipe(Catback) union. Let's kick this pig!
C_randyjones
Thanks for the reply. I got the mufflers on and they sound great from the outside but do drone a little on the highway...as expected I guess after reading throught multiple threads on the topic. Fitment and appearance is great.
qikslvr
Ya, I went from stock to UP/DP one week then put on an SPT CBE with SPT mufflers the next week and it got loud quick! There's just a little drone going down the highway, but I think I have a fix. I'm either going to try spraying some undercoating right above the mufflers or stick some black sheets of dyna-mat (or whatever you call that stuff they use in the trunk to keep subwoofer noise in) up there. It's weird, you only hear it right at the rear corners of the car with the windows up. This is what makes me think we can kill the sound. It still rang through my trunk with a full load in there.
