cwmiller
Ok, don't want to get started on the whole don't use synthetic or don't use dino oil debate. What about using semi synthetic? This way there wont be the burn off and disappearing oil found with the synthetic or the whole debate of how crappy dino oil is. and sludge So semi-synthetic 5w-30. This ok for an oil change?? lkjohnson1950
Proper break-in procedure has more to do with how much oil you will use than what type of oil you use. That said, cars are individuals and an oil that works well in one may not do well in another. Any good quality oil will be a good place to start. Change the oil and watch the dipstick. If you use a lot of oil, try a different brand or type. After a couple of changes you should find one that works well for you. Also remember, by SOA's definition nearly all driving is in "severe conditions", so use an appropriate weight. You're just jealous that the Voices talk to Me. RangerMan
I use Valvoline Durablend and like it. No change in oil level between OCI. I change it before 3750 and closer to 3000.
