iyalla
I believe the law is it must flash orange. What it looks like when off is up to you.

Joon525
I believe the law is it must flash orange. What it looks like when off is up to you. Wrong, it is federal law that it reflect orange/amber in the front even when the lights are off, and the rears reflect red. I've only heard of ONE person getting into trouble over this though. You're going to have to find a really anal cop to get you into trouble, or a really anal inspection guy (he could fail you if he wants to if the reflector are taken out). muddy02
same thing in mass, it won't pass inspection for a sticker if you don't have a "reflector". . . . unless they don't care. It's not about speed, it's about acceleration!
gosubaru
I used to just switch on all the lights before getting into the DMV. PASSED!!! same thing in mass, it won't pass inspection for a sticker if you don't have a "reflector". . . . unless they don't care.
