goboom
I had my door hit by someone at work. I am wanting to know how to "fix" this spot on my car. I read through the thread on touch up paint, but this looks like black metal showing. I put the battery in for scale. Should I just try some paint or should I endeavor for more. I do not plan to repaint the whole car just for this spot, and I do not want it to rust out. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Aryx
That looks like a blue car hit you, and it looks like you got hit on the door strip correct? If it is than you just got some plastic scratched so I wouldn't worry about rusting. Besides you're in Texas when do you ever see a salt truck, or even a winter! Touch up paint should make that minimally visible.
pillboy
Pretend you work for a contractor for NASA and just got a bad review. It is still ugly.

pillboy
Dude, that's not even funny. Humor is a coping mechanism. With all the bad sh!t in the world, you have to deal with it somehow or you would end up in the fetal position in a closet. Sure, it's tragic. Could anyone have seen it coming...I'll bet there there is a lot more to this story than we know now. It is still ugly.
