B4, I am working on finding a set of pads.. I've been informed that Carbotech makes a set of Bobcats for us.. :D The rear brake pads (believe it or not) are the same as a WRX (2002+) brake pads, so that's available.. the fronts is another matter.. I will be looking into the Endless brake pads line up as well.. Paul Hansen of AVOJapan told me Mackin Industries makes a set of Project Mu/Titan Kai brake pads as well (I am sure that's what it is).. I'll let you know when I find something. Keefe
http://www.mackinindustries.com/products.html Sorry, I misspelled TAITAN-KAI Keefe
Keefe, good call man! This has been the one section of modding the Legacy where there seems to be the least support for. The brake pads realy need to be upgraded for this car. I want to get braided lines..but I think they would be pointless w/o the pads. I wanted to know about the JDM pads as a possible option or the STI pads. I will take a look at these and see what they offer. I tried to look on for pads from Endless, and I didn't see anything for the Legacy yet. But, every one who drives my car says the pads need to go..and I agree 100%. B4

I just sent in the backing plates to Racecomp (which he will talk to his network) for a similar pad backing plates. If you are in a dying need of pads, Project Mu TAITAN-KAI pads are up there with Carbotech Bobcats, BUT you'll be paying an arm and leg for them. I am looking into Endless for them to cough up the NA-D pads or the CC-X pads.. if not, I will go with Carbotech with their pads of the Bobcats and XP9s. I opt for Carbotech because of a sponsorship. But if Racecomp Engineering can get me a set of the Endless big brake kits (with SCR-Pro slotted 1-piece rotors front and rear, steel lines, and 6 pot front, 4 pot rear calipers) then I am garanteed to run with Endless pads instead. Anyway, the search continues, if I hear something, I'll let you know.. what kind of pads are you looking for? I am going to opt for both autocross pads and a set of rotor-friendly/summer-streetable track pads as well. Keefe

When I mod my car, I mod for the street and livablity. So, I need a pad that would not be to noisey...dusty..and work all the time not just when warm/hot. So, a realy good street pad that gives a better over all feel/bite than stock. So that's why I may be good with the stock JDM pads..or the STI pads. I am also looking at the project MU's...but I would like to read a review before I sink the cash. B4

The TAITAN KAIs will be a bit too much then.. (even though they dont require any warmup time). You might end up looking for something that is along the lines of a Porterfield pad or a street Pagid pad.. I will talk to my network on a set of Bobcats for the GT.. I think those will be your best bet since they dont make noise and they are fairly better on dusting than the Axxis Ultimates pads.. Most of the Endless pads are super dusty (eventhough they claim minimal to medium dusting) but the compound is definitely a little more than what you expect out of the performance, so that's a plus. http://jprova.co.jp/product/BL-BP/brake01.html These are Prova's version of the Bobcats... expect to pay somewhere about $180 for the fronts and $150 for the rear after said and done.. it will work on our GTs.. http://www.zerosports.co.jp/products/parts.asp?car=Legacy_2003&cate=BRA These are Zerosports pads for the GT.. expect to pay about $250 for front and $250 for the rear.. I think they are more for light track use.. http://www.syms.jp/products/legacy/bp/brake.html Syms has a various types of compounds and such.. I am not sure which is which.. http://www.mackinindustries.com/projectmu_pad.html TaitanKai are Project Mu/Mackin Industries pads which are designed for bigger cars for street operating temperatures (0 degrees C to 800 degrees C). Expect to pay around $200 per set, front or rear. These are the JDM stuff, I am in the search for USDMade brakes for the GT right now.. Keefe
