Damn, pretty good at distinguishing sounds...and definitely easier when you're there in person to hear it. To the OP, if you're still under warranty take it in and get it checked out. I would not hesitate taking that car in for a serious check up before things don't want to rotate/move anymore. The hollow sound make it seem even more ominous. Let us know what you come up with.
