D-2.5-GT
Just wondering if anyone knew of a good product / way to clean the tips of the exhaust. They are all covered with carbon from probably running a little rich. Anyway, just want to try and get them back to that shinny finish. Any ideas? Guest JessterCPA
I think some Simichrome polish with a Dremel should do the trick. I was going to try this weekend myself.

It works really well and it's what I use to clean my wheels as well. 2005 Legacy GT Wagon Ltd 5EAT Garnet Red 1999 GTI VR6 Black - sold but not forgotten... I picked up a gallon of Simple Green at Costco & use it on everything!
docsmile71
I heard that kerosene works great for taking off carbon deposits. I personally have never tried it though. For my old cars which had polished tips, I used a good chrome polish like Mothers or something similar.
firedawgs
I second the crome polish, but after the simple green to clean. Updated my vBGarage:
BoxerGT2.5
Eagle one chrome and metal polish....pick it at your local auto store. It's in a silver tub. Very clean as it is cloth/cotton fibers. OBAMA......One Big Ass Mistake America!
docsmile71
Simple green is awesome stuff too. I use it to clean stains off the interior carpet. And also as an engine degreaser.
