rayu
I've searched (here, Tire Rack, Kumho website, Google) and haven't been able to find the tread width for Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I'm looking at 215/45 17 and 225/45 17. Anyone out there with these and a tape measure?

mickeyd2005
What do you mean tread width? Are you interested in the width that makes contact with the ground? Or the section width to check for clearance issues? Both will vary slightly based upon the rim width that you use. http://www.kumhousa.com/tirespecs.do?id=7&parentId=1&pid=KU31

rayu
As I stated, tread width; which is by definition the width of the contact patch. Kumho only provides section width, which is the measurement of the width of the tire at its widest point. For these modest sized tires section width is not an issue, but I would like to know actual tread width in comparing alternatives.
GTTuner
I put the 225 ASX's on my stock wheels. The tread area on that size wheel is very close to the section width, due to the narrow rim width. They look only marginally wide once on the car. The sidewalls are squeezed in tight. Remember, you get what you pay for. I'm not crazy happy with my Kumhos'......but for 80 bucks a copy they are a good bargin. Next purchase will be rims and tires and I def will be spending some coin for a premium tire. GTTuner
I just took some rough measurements; Section width is approx 8.5 inches and contact patch is 7-7.5 inches Again, ASX's on stock LGT 17's.
