sleepin gt
i meant 'read', not speak.... lo ciento OK, so heres the deal. We are installing an obscure hydraulic clutch onto a wrx for a paraplegic customer. We are 95 percent done with the install, but i was wondering if anyone in socal speaks japanese, if they could help us decipher some of the instructions. sleepin gt
i need to know where that red wire goes... and i need to know what those 'garage door' switches mean, and how they should be oriented. We figured out that some are for pedal travel, but cant figure out the rest. The document is about 25 pages long, so if this isnt enough info, then im still going to plead that someone stop by if possible to help out. you guys rock!! thanks! mickeyd2005
I know kenchan can read since he posted something in Japanese once. Most of that is katakana (Japanese technical terms unique to auto) so the translator will need to be knowledgeable about cars. The red line says bu ree ki la i n so that probably means brake line. If someone doesn't post a translation by tonight, I'll ask my wife to translate it. She used to translate for the Honda managers in Ohio.

jazzymt
I asked my brother to translate it, this is what he said: Hi, Well, the first one is talking about a 'tape switch' or something like that. The matrix in the middle is for an 'actuator tape switch', the first column is labeled "Group" the second I think is labeled "Number". The diagram at the bottom is for a 'computer unit tape switch', the stuff at the top is a little blurry, but basically I think it just says, "instructions for system tape switch operation". The second picture is quite blurry, but the orange wire says "Key Line", which I assume means 'Key Wire' and an indistingishable kanji next to it, the second one says "RPM Line" and again i can't read whats next to it. The third line i think says "Break Line" or something like that, i can't really tell. The fourth says "Speed sensor line" and there are 3 of them. It also says 'motor' at the bottom of the page, so i assume you're working on something with a motor, like, say, your car. Hope that helps, if you need more info, take another clear shot and send it to me. jj808
How would a parapalegic drive a car? Isn't that a person that is paralyzed in his/her lower extremities? Especially a manual. How?

jj808
You mean like DSG or the automatic? The why would that require a clutch?
Boostjunkie
AFAIK the system that Harman Motive is installing is an automated clutch. Basically it clutches in while the driver shifts gears.
