SVeer
My 95 LS has 183,000 miles on it and the rear end sags compared to the front. Is this my springs, struts, or both failing.

one69chev
struts are not meant to hold a vehicle up, just absorb the impact of bumps and holes in the road..... the spring is what provides the lift, so when you hit a bump, the spring wants to send the car into orbit, and the strut reacts in an opposite direction and pulls the car back down to earth.... you need some springs dood...... one69chev
no prob....be careful when if you replace them yourself. you have to compress the spring when you remove the strut assembly, and there is a lot of stored energy there; make sure you have a good spring compressor, you don't want that bastage flyin' outta there, it'll take your head off.... of course, now would be the perfect time to get some new coil-overs, because if the springs are shot, the struts are prolly in need of replacing.......
